Hi,
I recently signed up to the Exerian credit rating trail after using Noddle for free, for the past couple of years.
On Noddle my credit report is showing as 1/5 poor - However when I used Experian it was showing as very good, I cant remember my credit score but it was high.
The problem is that I cannot get any credits cards - When I do the pre-check via the bank or the money saving expert ones it says I have an excellent chance of approval, however when I actually put in the application I am turned down flat! This is with even with the basic cards for people with bad credit.
I'm worried because it's coming to that time where I am going to look at mortgages - I've always had current accounts, phone contracts, car insurance, had an overdraft (don't use it anymore) without a problem. What do you think could be causing this?
Also I tried to sign up for the Equifax credit thing but it said my debit card wasn't linked to my address and that I needed to ring up (it is linked)
It's rather strange!

If you want to know if it affects others then why not take a look at some threads or use the search function? You'll then see whether others have had this and what our responses to these many people were.0

No, I've not had this. You might need to go into your file in detail. Look at every section and ensure it is correct. Check all financial associations to ensure they're not affecting you. Check addresses, etc. There might be mistakes that you can fix.
You must be careful now, because it sounds like you've had your file searched too many times. Being turned down for credit, for whatever reason might be impacting you, but not yet showing up on your file. So, you need to stop applying for a few months - more like 6. Keep an eye on your file - the accounts section and searches.
Another thing I've discovered it if you move around mobile phone providers or even change within a company, e.g. Orange to EE, you setup a new account and close an old one, so you lose the benefit of having that contract. Keep a contract running for a while so that you can show a well managed account. Also, try to keep hold of old accounts as long running, well managed, financial relationships are worth a lot.0
