Selling iTunes gift cards?

Hi folks. I have a dozen or so £25 iTunes gift cards to sell on eBay.

Bizzarely, they go for above face value!?

I've listed them at £25.99, with free postage by First Class Signed For. After eBay/ Paypal fees and postage costs, I'm left with £20.58. That's fine (I got them for £20 each from Tesco and I'm already in credit from the Clubcard points, Fuelsave and credit card miles earned).

Two questions if I may:

1. Is Signed For the right service to use? I'm not concerned about RM losing them, but I am concerned that they're probably a high fraud item that will appeal to dodgy buyers.

2. What about buyers who want the code emailed? Would it be OK to email the code but still post the physical cards (and thus be eligible for seller protection)?

Thanks in advance,
Rich

    1.
Signed for doesn't always mean that a signature will be obtained. It should do but it's not unknown for some posties to deliver without asking for anyone to sign.
If the package does get lost (or delivered without a signature) and the buyer claims for non delivery, you will lose the claim and won't be able to get any compo from RM as vouchers, gift cards etc are only covered if sent Special delivery.

    2.
Doing this will leave you open to being ripped off.
All a scammer would need to do it to get the code via e-mail and then refuse to accept the signed for mail delivery. They would then win a goods not received dispute but would still have the code to use.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of this trick (a buyer refusing the delivery). I won't send any codes out if this is the case. It's a shame, since most are probably genuine.

To be honest, the possibility of a Signed For delivery not being signed I can cope with. The extra fiver per item for Special Delivery sounds like a very expensive insurance premium.
