Structural Engineer

Hi
We are getting an Extension work done.
Our Architect did the drawings etc and recommended a structural engineer to do the calculations.
She did not visit the property and based on architect's drawings sent in calculations regarding two RJC beams to be used.
When the building inspector came he wanted structural engineer to assess the footing and give me a report.
We contacted the Structural engineer but she refused to come and said she is going on holiday in three days time. She said she will try and get somebody else to come around-but nobody came.
We got another Structural Engineer to come and he checked the footing and said to install another RJC beam to bear the weight of the new roof to which building inspector agreed.
I have paid £560 for the previous structural engineer-but felt let down by her calculations and refusal to visit.
How best to deal with this?
