Admiral refusing to repair car to pre accident condition

You need to commission a report from an independent engineer to comment on the quality of the repairs and what rectification work is needed, plus also to comment on the issue with the ABS pump failure.
I am a bit of a BMW nut myself and E46's are well know to shat an ABS pump and anyone who bought a brand new one from the dealers would need rigging upto a fault code finder themselves.
The fact it was clearly working properly hours before the smack when you had an MOT done is your strongest point here.
Where abouts in the county are you?
An absence of ABS shouldn't stop you from driving the car though0 -
dealer equipment can usually get the date and some the time and date the code appeared it maybe on the report print out from the dealer,I would suggest you ask the admiral to double check this date with the date and time of incident.
Your MOT hours previous is a good arguing point also.
But my fear maybe that if this part is £3k then your car is most certainly a write off even if they have started repairs, admiral can still pay to date for the labor and parts to the repairing garage and close down on the repairs to it have it transported to a salvage yard and send you a cheque for the cars current value this not uncommon to happen.0 -
I thought ABS light was instant MOT failure ?Be happy...;)0

Any warning light is a failure now days for an mot.
Just spoke to someone in the quality department at Admiral. They had the body shop send pictures of the repair to an Admiral engineer, who has said the car looks ok.
They are now arranging for an Independent Assessor to look at the car for there opinion.
The other problems haven't even been looked at yet so there not going to address them until after this has been sorted out. That doesn't really ring true with me as you'd hardly sort out the small and cheap job first. I have a feeling they will just claim wear and tear as it's an old car....0 -

It is now along with other warning lights etc.
People used to just take the bulb out but now they check properly if the bulb illuminates first before then going out.0 -
Even if they do write the car off with the money they offer you for it you could probably get a used or after-market replacement for the expensive part.
This is a good example of why it is best to use your own preferred garage for repairs. The one chosen by the insurance company is working for their best interests, not yours.0
