Perfect Home Insurance Help Needed Asap Please

Hi, I have a few items with Perfect Home, I opted out of their insurance as I had my own contents insurance already. When I took the agreements out they checked that the items would be covered under my insurance, which they were under my policy. I switched insurers on a like for like basis last year, still covering me for hire purchase items.
This week I received a letter from Perfect Home notifying me that my account was not adequately insured and to please provide proof of insurance or they would add their cover to the items. I took the policy up but they needed to have copies of all of it, I couldn't find them so my insurers emailed them over to me.
When I took this proof up the store manager told me that the rules have changed and that my insurance wasn't viable as it doesn't match theirs. It doesn't match because my excess was £350 and theirs was £100. I spoke to my insurers who said they could lower the accidental damage and theft to £100 for admin fee of £25 and a bit extra on my monthly payments. I did this in store and then when they presented it to the store manager he said he still couldn't accept it as the water damage excess was still £350 and not £100.
My insurers have told me they cannot lower this excess and in between £250 and £350 is the normal fee, I wouldnt get it lower from anywhere else. They said perfect home are just trying to force me into taking their policy. I have been with Perfect Home for over 2 years and my insurance has been enough since then and has been accepted every time an agreement was taken out. Are they allowed to just change the rules mid policy and do I have to take theirs? On the contracts that I have it doesn't state anywhere that the insurance has to be like for like in terms of excess, it just states that I have to be covered for fire, theft and accidental damage on hire purchase goods. I have until tomorrow, 7 days from the date on the letter to sort this before they put their cover on. i will be ringing trading standards on Monday but could just do with some advise before the please.
Many thanks
