Mint Loan PPI Reclaim

Options
I've used the template on MSE website to obtain T&C's of my Mint Loan taken out in 2005. They have today responded with details of the loan and interest etc but don't seem to have any info on any PPI. The only mention of PPI is on the cover letter, saying that if I wish to make a complaint to write to the given address. My question is, I do not actually know if I was sold PPI by the information provided and am unsure of what the next step to take should be. Should I write to the given address and just ask the direct question 'Was I sold PPI on this loan?'. My concern is in asking this they will try and fob me off. Also, the fact that the info sent does not include any info on PPI, does this suggest that I didn't actually have any?

If there is no record of you having taken PPI then you didn't have it. They have already basically told you this by providing the agreement which doesn't show PPI. Any further correspondence is therefore a waste of both your time and theirs.

If you want to be certain of this and want to spend £10, send them a SAR - see the front page sticky for a link to the template.

But if PPI is not shown on the agreement, then I can't see any circumstance where it could have been added later.

Hardly worth a £10 SAR gamble, but the OP could ask the Bank outright for "clarification" on the status of the loan regarding PPI.

Based on the MSE template, it seems to indicate the the T&C's of the loan may not have incluced the PPI and may be a separate document which they may have failed to include (assuming I had it). Based on both of your replies, I may just call the PPI complaints number provided to me and ask the question directly. I would assume they'd be legally obliged to answer the question if I did have PPI. Thanks for both of your input.

All of my loan agreements show PPI.
    Some may not.
    Some may.

He wanted to be sure. That's th eonly way to be sure, because if there is no paperwork left, then he's stuffed anyway.

Only to the best of their ability. If there are no longer any records they can access, then you'll have to do as -taff suggested.
