Income from charity have any effect on HB/CTB?

A couple in their 30's, no kids, living in HA house..

Person one is on CA.
Person two is on ESA IR SG and DLA mrc, lrm.

Person one has been offered employment within a charity, which would mean taking a wage (IMO seems silly them taking a wage from a charity)

Would this income have any affect on their current HB/CTB?

ie, would they be worse off by earning money as they would have to pay rent/councl tax?

    Lots of charities have employees.

She can earn up to £100 a week without it affecting her CA.

The DLA would not be affected. The ESA might be as its income related.

Income is income, doesnt matter if its from a charity or the biggest business in the world.

Wouldn't the fact that Person One is working have an effect on their ability to be a full time carer for the CA? I thought you had to be a carer for a certain number of hours per week? (I assume CA is Carers Allowance is it?)

You need to care for someone for at least 35 hours a week to claim.

Yes, CA is Carers Allowance and is 35 hrs per week.

168 hours in a week, less 35 for CA.. That leaves 133 hours to sleep and do some hours for the charity.
