Bought and tried new Apple Mac Pro 13 online from UK no.1 Retailer John Lewis believing under DSR I was entitled to a refund for any reason. I have put on some photos to find that they are showing unacceptably small unlike how they show on a Windows computer that they have been copied from; also mouse pad is so much different to what I am used to. John Lewis have said I can't have refund as I have used it, but I thought DSR covered for such a problem. PLEASE can anyone give me a definitive answer a.s.a.p.

How long have you used/had it for.
Have you installed Software?
Usually the DSR allows you to inspect it as you would in a shop. In a shop you cannot boot up, register, install photos, etc etc0 -
You are allowed to inspect it as if you were inspecting it in a shop, that doesn't mean uploading photos etc to it. In this case you went to far as it's not what you can do in a shop.
Shouldn't stop you getting a refund under DSR though but in the real world your not going to get one as you failed to take reasonable care of the goods, in this case by using the software licence and because of this they will use the software get out clause.0 -

A question, if they are small on the windows machine and the mac, because you copied them over, perhaps the windows machine saved them or made them a smaller size. I have photos on my Mac from a old iphone and they come up whatever size they were. Sounds like theyre just small photos.
The trackpad would be an issue that you could return for under DSR as you can obviously try that in a shop, but you cant put your own things on and then return, as that is acceptance and using it as if it were your own which is not what the DSR is designed for.0 -
The size of the photos could just be to do with the resolution of the screen. Try it at a different resolution.
I am sure that you will get used to a different track pad with a bit of practice. You will have to I guess as you have little chance of a refund as stated above.0 -
OP can you answer this please, and can we assume you carried put the purchase making exclusive use of distance means?marliepanda wrote: »How long have you used/had it for.0 -
I know it doesn't help OP problem but for other prospective purchasers it's useful to know Apple have a 14day no quibble return policy if bought from their store OR from their website.0
