A PPI claims company should have charged 30% plus Vat from our PPI claim but they invoiced us for a much lesser amount we paid it by phone and asked if that was all we had to pay they said yes. Then have now reinvoiced us stating part payment for the amount we have paid plus added another £2000. Does anyone know if By law we have to pay?

An error does not entitle you to the money unless you had reasonable expectation. It would be hard to argue you had reasonable expectation when you knew their fee was 30% of the redress payment and could see that figure was wrong.
As it is their error and if you do not have the money, then you can agree a repayment plan (typically over 12 months. some may go to 18-24).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You knew the agreed amount was 30% and should have stated this at the time rather than simply asking is that correct.
You have to pay what you owe. You signed a legally binding contract to pay 30% of any redress you were awarded, so no point trying to wriggle out of paying now that they've realised their error.0
