My cat hisses at some but not others...how comes?

Hi
Our cat hisses at (so far 3) random people!! She hisses at my niece who comes over at least once a week. She also hisses at my son. And another nephew of mine. Their are people that come round that she doesn't hiss at. I don't think she's scared of them as such as she will go into a room that thier in. They don't have pets at thier own houses so not sure where it all comes from.

Had my cat for just under a year, and she is lovely, she's never been aggressive and is scaredy cat (pardon the pun) more than anything.

I'm not sure why she does this as thier not exactly strangers especially my niece....any advise please? And also what can make her like them?

Niece, son and nephew? Are these all little people? Kids don't move calmly, they are erratic and often cats don't like that.

The hiss is just a warning to keep their distance, as long as they do then all will be well in the world.

You can't make the cat like them. The best thing they can do is ignore the cat, don't let them try to stroke/interact with her - let her come to them if and when she wants - this could be 6 weeks or 6 years from now.

My girl cat sometimes hisses at my nephew. I think it's toddlers and children she isn't keen on as they chase her. She gets out of their way soon enough. The hiss is just a warning for them to leave her alone.
