Hi
Only just joined cannot see how to post so tried replying to a thread
I recently parked in a station car park where I paid on line the night before for my ticket the next day.
Arriving at the station car park at 7.15am I found all the spaces had gone. I was then told by a railway attendant as I had paid on line I could pay in the season ticket holders area..
I refused to pay the parking fine as it was not a penalty fine. I have now received a letter from “Newlyn Debt Collectors” demanding money. My question is should I pay, ignore the letter or contact them to tell them I am not paying?
Can they take me to court for non-payment?
Thanks for any advice

Why not do a bit of research for the answer to your question? There's plenty of information on here that will tell you what to do and prevent someone having to type it all out again just for your benefit.
Tip - start with the 'Newbies' thread at the top of the Parking board.0 -
Hi NIce One
tykesi meant for you to read the NEWBIES thread not to post on it as it is an information thread for all forum users.
Please read the advice on it - especially post #4 Debt Collector stage.
If after reading it you need advice please post here on your own thread0 -
Hi Nice One & welcome to MSE :hello:
I've moved your posts from three other threads across the board into this thread, please make future posts in this thread as it will help you keep track of your case. It also makes it easier for the regular members to help you if all the info is in one place.0 -
I suggest a simple 'search this forum' for the keyword 'Newlyn' so this newbie can read the zillions of other Newlyn threads were have already replied every week!
No need for new threads or queries about stuff already covered all over the forum every time Newlyn crop up. We know it's new to you - but we've seen it all before and can't keep posting about debt collector letters day in, day out, telling people again and again that they mean nothing and they (debt collectors) are pen-pushers who can't take you to court. If you want to find out the answers you seek you really are best reading all the other Newlyn threads you can find on this forum board with one search, and compare notes with others also laughing at their letters.
Once you've read lots of other Newlyn threads you won't be asking 'shall I pay?'! You will be wondering what on earth you were worried about.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0
