Still not liable. QQ should have checked and verified the destination details which would have been ludicrously easy if they had followed basic procedure and deposited £1 with a verification code. They destination account is closed and there is no way that the OP can be held responsible for it if they have no access to it. The funds were never in the OPs possession.
So I get QQ to give me a loan and give my wife's bank details and I will not be held responsible because the money was never in my possession?
This problem is the biggest loophole with Payday loans - there is no way of confirming that the debit card details are for the person applying for the loan.
If this could be sorted 90% of complaints about fraud would disappear overnight.
