Plant ideas

Hi
I'm looking for some plant suggestions.
I have a tiny patio garden. I use an area under some steps as storage. For the last 7 years, I've screened the area with 2 pots containing 4-5ft bamboo. This has worked quite well but sadly the bamboo hasn't made it through the winter this year.
The pots are about 40cm tall x 35cm diameter. I can't increase the size of the pots as space is limited and I do need to be able to lift them to get access to the storage area.
Garden is south facing and gets lots of sun.
So, any suggestions for a plants that don't mind a small pot, grow to 4ft ish and have plenty of foliage? (or is bamboo my best option?).

Those were very small pots for bamboo, and has probably contributed to their demise. If you replace with bamboo then every few years tip them out of the pots, split in two and re pot one 1/2 and give other half away if you don't want it.
Assuming you want evergreen can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but there must be something.
I'd use it to grow tomatoes personally or if it had to be none food, sunflowers.0 -
Picea glauca var. albertiana 'Conica' ?
