Adam Stackhouse, Head of Sales at Chesterton, believes that buyers have already become interest rate savvy from the rise in May. He predicts that the slowdown is merely a temporary stall in the price rise juggernaut: "...The timid buyer who puts off committing will be penalised..."

The author of this piece clearly does not understand the BoE's role. The BoE sets interest reats specifically to control inflation (CPI actually). CPI does not include mortgage payments. Consequently, the BoE's decision to raise IRs has nothing to do with house prices.0 -
