Perhaps somebody can shed some light on this .........?

O/h booking tickets for local theatre , council owned & run , was told that if the show ( Blood Brothers ) was cancelled there would not be any refunds ! is this legal ? would it come under Sec.75 ?
All replies valued and appreciated :)

I take it you're aware of this prior to booking? If so I can't see the issue, you agree to the T&Cs prior to ordering. One could argue this is an unfair term but that's something entirely different.

So would it be acceptable for Tesco home delivery to say "If we decide not to bring your shopping, we'll keep your money anyway"? It's pretty much the same thing.

Of course it's an unfair contract term.

What they may mean is if *you* cancel there's no right to refund

The " no show" refers to you not turning up?

No , when queried on this , if the show/concert/panto is cancelled there is no refunds made ):
Would this come under the SoG act or is nthis a "service"
It is made clear that this is in the T&C but just seems wrong !

When you can get a refund on tickets

If the event you have booked is cancelled, rescheduled or has changed location, you are entitled to a refund of at least the face value of the ticket. If the face value has been reduced by the organiser, the refund will be for the discounted face value price paid.

If an event is rescheduled to another date, your tickets should be valid. If you can't make the rescheduled date, then you're entitled to a full refund.
The ticket seller is responsible for giving you your refund for tickets to a cancelled event.

It is a condition of membership of the industry's self-regulatory body, the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR), that ticket sellers refund the ticket's face value price, when an event is cancelled.

Pity you couldn't see it, good show. I still jump at the end, even though seen it 5 times !
