Featherstone Leigh witholding deposit

Hi,
Just really peeved with this whole issue, we moved in about year and a half ago, the place is old and dated but we were renting (now left) the condition (according to agent who did final inspection) was that the property was unfit for human habitation, the heating system over 30 yrs old, boiler with no jacket, kitchen was in bad way with worktops loose from wall, every single cupboard had broken handles, holes in roof from damp, squirrels in attic, the list goes on and on.
We had real issues with Featherstone Leigh when we tried to correct problems, such as the water valve sticking so we had to use heating when we turned on water and a loose carpet which we asked them to fix over and over again but they didn't (I aggravated existing back injury with fall from this loose carpet, but telling them this still did not result in a fix).
My main reason for writing here is that they are trying to charge us for holes made in the kitchen (£20), these were not made by us, we never put up a single thing in the place only using what was already there. I know its only a small amount of money but I object to the principal of them trying to take money under false pretenses. The agent that did the final inspection was not even the same as the first and neither of them took pictures (neither did we but I didn't expect them to sink to this to take money from us).
I know every instinct is to just take the money and put up with it but this will let them keep doing it to others in the future
FYI Dont EVER EVER EVER use Featherstone Leigh, they are slow, greedy, unprofessional and will treat you like 2nd class citizens (if you are lucky!)
