Hi, I just want to warn everyone I can about my experience with this company, and also the similar experience of a friend of mine.
Both so us ordered an item costing around £100 in December. Weeks passed with no update about why the delay. Finally in February we received the item but in both cases it was damaged and unusable despite the outer packaging being undamaged.
Both of us immediately contacted the company and were sent a return label to send it back and told there 'was a faulty batch'. We did and heard nothing for 2-3 weeks. By now it was March. In both our cases they then tried to deny receiving the item back. Both of us had proof of postage which we provided. After several emails I was twice told my item had been dispatched and would be with me any day now. But nothing arrived. By the end of March some 3 months after I paid for the item I finally realised I was just being lied to and evaded.
My friend lost his patience before I did and having been ignored when he asked for a refund went to his credit card company and was refunded. This was also the route I had to take, and am now at the stage of having got my money back, but the company has 45 days to dispute this. I have all the evidence to back up everything that happened so hopefully they won't have a leg to stand on. If for any reason they do manage to claw back my money I would take them to the small claims court.
Reading this you may think these 2 transactions were just an occasional out of the blue thing. But of course when I ran into problems I did a bit of searching and turned up their Amazon sellers account. The seller feedback is absolutely full of people complaining about non receipt of goods and continual broken promises. The older feedback on there the seller had replied to the complainants basically calling them all liars! It was reading their responses that I got a flavour for who the people running this company actually are. I do not do business with people with the integrity of hyenas normally, and would recommend you all avoid them like the plague!
The sorry tale doesn't end there. My friend warned me when he got his credit card refund that a few days later a fraudulent transaction appeared on his card for a large online Tesco order to an address just around the corner from Koi Direct's warehouse. His card was cancelled. This of course could be a huge coincidence. But there has just been a cluster of customers complaining about similar frauds that have happened to them after paying over the phone on the Trust Pilot website. The company has clearly complained about all of these negative reviews and had them all removed this week. I have contacts on some of the koi forums though so have further details of what has been going on. It would appear that Koi Direct is directly involved in a scam to defraud customers credit cards, whilst most of the time not providing the goods paid for. I'm assuming they sometimes get away with this when people just simply give up.
Avoid!

Hi Feline, So glad you posted this albeit too late as I too have purchased an item from this company costing over £200, The site promised free delivery and they are saying it is not free delivery and I have been fobbed off that many times....now they don't respond to my e-mails, I think I need to go the same route you have gone to get a refund, I have copies of the e-mails I have sent and the replys (Those that did reply that is) and some of the names of the so called customer care department people.....looking at the bigger picture there must be something that can be done to put an end to what these people are doing to innocent people.....I would be obliged for any further infomation you have to help my case and others who have fallen foul of these people.0

Hi there Cruiser, so sorry to hear you've also been let down by them
It's definitely worth perusing via your credit card. I filled in the form they sent me and sent copies of all the emails as evidence. They then refunded my money and gave Koi Direct Ltd 45 days to respond, which they didn't.
If you could please leave a review on Trust Pilot it will help warn others not to shop there, they will immediately report your review to try to get it removed, then you have to forward a receipt as proof of purchase to Trust Pilot to get it reinstated.
Have a read of this thread on the koi forum I frequent, there are others there currently having the same issues and a guy who claims to be their customer service manager has posted!
I can't post a link to it because I'm not a 'regular' here but go onto
koiforum.co.uk and search for koi direct, and you will find a thread called "has anyone used Koi Direct?'
Good luck getting your money back.0 -
