I opted for SP as my EDF Blue runs out at the end of the month. I do have to say that I never had a problem with EDF and would have gladly stayed with them if the deal had been right.

SP customer service is very good and the ringback system is absolutely great. No more waiting in a queue for an hour.

My only complaint regards the DD. My gas and electricity have not changed on the same date. Electricity is done and dusted but the gas is still pending, so my first DD is for electricity only. SP have set this at double the agreed electricity DD amount. I see this as a sneaky way of frontloading the amount they have in hand in my account. I can't see any other reason for doing this.

I phoned them but it's too late to change the DD for this month.

It's a shame, as I have otherwise been happy with the changeover process.

If you have a dual fuel tarrif they will only take one payment for both. Check if the amount debited is the sum of your quoted DD for both fuels.

No it isn't. It's specified as electricity only. Gas hasn't transferred yet anyway.

    Quote from email:
"The electricity payment within the Dual Fuel payment is: £106.28"

This was confirmed by the advisor.

That is rediculous . £106 for electric only, even at £53 a month you must be a very heavy user. As a single person my DD for both is £40 a month and well covers my annual usage .

We are quite heavy users (big house) and use about 14 kWh a day on average. £50 a month is about right.
