Hi all, Seems my desktop is very unwell and hoping someone can help me resolve the problems! Story so far... 1. Couple of days ago starting receiving spam pop ups which we have never had in the past. 2. Internet now very strange. For example, facebook comes up with wifes page with basic details at the top but no text images at all can be seen. BBC doesn't show images and appears to be a different site to that we're used to. Tried to instal Google Chrome - takes me to the download but does nothing when I click to download it. Computer when I re-boot now comes up with a black screen saying checking discs and giving me 10 secs to abort. Will not me do a rstrui.exe Starts downloading the files then just stops I've just done a full scan using Avast it found 8 infected files which I assume it repaired but having rebooted the same problems I'm getting viewing internet pages. All very weird - can anyone offer some advice??? Many thanks in advance, Richard

Download malwarebytes on another PC if possible and superantispyware portable , put them on a cd or USB drive and install on the infected PC
Run malwarebytes on a full scan and fix all it finds

Thanks guys - unfortunately when I try to download malware and the the link you gave it is telling me "the current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" Do you I have to download it onto a usb from another computer then plug the usb in to this desktop and re-boot?0

Seems it will not let me download any anti spyware on this computer - still saying security settings will not allow this file to be downloaded. Is downloading onto a USB my only option from here??0

Have you not got another PC (as suggested by Browntoa). Can you get into safemode (with networking)?0

reset IE to default under internet options, tools, advanced
