Am I eligible for tax credits?

Hey after some help please.
I was wondering if anyone could say whether or not I am likely to be granted tax credits.
I just tried the calculator and its saying I am eliagble for £50 odd a week but I just guestimated last years earnings so just want to see if the outcome would be different if I put exact figures in. I know the amount I enter is not far from it maybe 1k difference.,
Last year I was mainly on benefits with 2 temp jobs that I earned less then £1k combined so working with £70 a week from benefits and adding my little earnings its no more then £5-6k
This year I have landed a full time job doing 40 hours a week earning £7 an hour.
So with this do you think I will be eligable for any? If so can I back date the claim to when I first started work? I started on the 03/03/14
The employment however is on a 0 hour contract! Does this change things? My job is always going to be 40 hours a week as im the only person who does the job and another guy who does the 2 days im off but for some reason the company wont give me fixed hours even though the job I do always has to be done unlike other areas that are dependent on how busy the business is.
Hope this makes sense and someone can advise me!
P.s, If I am able to claim it, how long does it normally take for the claim to become active and to start recieving payments? Are tget weekly payments or monthly?
Thank you in advance for any help provided

Im a bit confused. How do I find out exactly how much I earned last year? Iv received no p60.
I did get a P45 from the job centre when I started my new job but it said I had only earned £10! I assume becuase the new tax year had just started.
So what info do I need to get before I proceed to make the claim?
the JSA was a taxable benefit I believe.
Also my friend works the same amount of hours and is on the same hourly rate and he gets £50 a week!
Do I have to give exact figures for 2013 year?
Thanks for the help0 -
Yea I dont know where I can find out how much I earned last year! Can I call the tax office and ask them? Will they be able to tell me exactly how much I earned?0

I called up and the bloke on the phone said he could take an estimate. I said £6k max which I know it is and he said I would get around £27 a week.
I have to call the tax office and they can give me an exact figure for what I earned.
Thanks for your help0
