Apologies if my post appears to make no sense, I would have removed it but as it has now been quoted I will leave it. Some other posts have been removed by the forum team so my post makes no sense.0

Lollipopsarah - hope you recover quickly!
Disability means that I have long periods when I am housebound. I find it useful to have a variety of activities on-hand because too long at any one thing tires me.
One activity I have learned to enjoy a great deal is knitting. I taught myself last year. You don't need much to get started - one pair of needles and a ball of cheap yarn. Plus a book (from the library?) or a friend to teach you the basics. If you can master casting0n/off and simple knitting you can manage to make useful stuff! (No complicated stitches needed and not even increase/decrease!). You could knit squares for blankets - either for a local hospital (baby wards often accept blankets) or ask at charity shops - (we have a local group making blankets to send abroad) and check out the Operation Christmas Child website - they have some lovely patterns for beginners - including a sweet bag for children which again is simply cast on/off and plain knitting.....you could make a start on knitting some Christmas Presents for young family members!0 -

It doesn't make any sense other than I missed the 'more controversial' comments:D

Thank you everyone for your great tips and support.
I went outside today and just don't get it how kids can go like the clappers and I was like an old hag hanging on for dear life to the crutches - I suppose I will suddenly get the hang of it.
My lovely supervisor did make me laugh when she told me people get time off for a headache and I did 2 days with a break before admitting defeat then said I can't come back until fit - no good dragging my foot behind me (shouting for Esmerelda!!).
