I have a £794 debt with Halifax that I would like to resolve and am luckily in a position to pay them back in full. The Default on my credit file is from 2010 so what are my best options in terms of contacting them? do I get proof that they will send me a paid in full letter somehow if anyone out there can help it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

It will remain on file until 2016, but at least paying it leaves you in the position that you won't be taken to court etc for it.
