I have treated myself to the sensationail gel starter kit (on offer in boots) and I love it! Comes with the lamp and everything you need. Nails are now lovely and glossy and after 24hrs I usually need to remove or at least patch up, but it looks pristine and lovely. Really pleased with it!

I like no 7 Salsa too . I've tried seche vite and OPI topcoat but using a rimmel one now , seems ok . I find the longer I can let nails dry , the longer they stay unchipped . I've just got a uv lamp , not too expensive , from e bay . I did gel polish on my toes and they lasted all two weeks holiday and were still shiny . Have got ordinary polish on toes now with a gel top coat , looks nice . Will try it on my finger nails soon but I'm using some Sally Hansen nail thickener just now as they're splitting a bit .

My fave brand is Models Own, I own approx 50 of them! Don't really have a favourite colour, as I wear absolutely anything and everything when it comes to colours. I suppose pastels are my fave

I love Leighton Denny, I buy sets/special offers from QVC. My toes are currently bluey/green with a pink shimmer on top, looks amazing in the swimming pool, sort of mermaidy.

I have lots of others including OPI, Essie and some Avon. I tried their gel, not overly impressed

I splashed out on a fabulous gold from Estee Lauder last Christmas, put some OPI gold pieces on top and it looked amazing. The Est!e Lauder on its own started to peel round the edges and, given how expensive it was, I was disappointed. I emailed them and they sent me a cheque for the full amount!

My favourite budget brand is Barrie M, nice colours and excellent staying power.

My favourite is Sally Hansen, but some lines are better than others. I prefer Xtreme wear or Insta Dri. I usually stock up on holiday in the USA as they're about $3+. I found OPI quite variable, so won't pay their prices for the inconsistencies. Nails Inc are OK, but I only buy on offer as I don't think they're worth the full price either. I don't mind the Asda ones, not amazing but well worth the price tag. Same with Barry M.

Colour wise my staple is black, Sally Hansen Xtreme wear. I also like greys, silver, purple and greeny blues.
