in Credit cards
Hi guys
Currently in my second year at uni, I am becoming blissfully but worryingly aware of this credit rating stuff...
Never had a credit card or anything of the sort, however I do have a student account where I continually use my overdraft....(whoops)
Ive heard the money man on This Morning a few times talking about getting a good credit rating, and that I will need one for the future, but have no idea where to start or what to do?
Although, I don't want to get myself in sticky situations where I owe money that wasn't necessary, and don't really want to be using a credit card as I don't really need one!
Any help?
Thanks

getting student credit card and using it regularly, but always pay in full each month (preferably via a DD so you never forget) will build a very nice credit file.0

If you have remained within your authorised student overdraft and have credits going in eg student loan, pt job then it is likely the bank would give you a student credit card if you ask/apply.
Use it for small purchases and pay in full by dd and you will start building a good credit profile.
Living in an interest free overdraft is fine as a student but check how long after you finish uni the overdraft remains interest free and at that level and make sure you reduce it / pay it off in line with those timescales0
