Good email host

Hi all

I have had my own domain for many years and only use it for email for the family.

This has been with freeparking.

Their email amount is minuscule (10mb per address) so I am looking to move.

Any recommendations as to a decent company that I might shift my domain to and get some reasonable amount of space too?

Not interested in the website bit just email

How about they all open GMail accounts and you can access your domain email through that (I do - have several domains and receive/send as if native)

Office 365 Exchange Online Plan 1.
50GB mailbox plus Outlook Web Access, ActiveSync, POP, IMAP and MAPI access. Enterprise level anti spam and malware filtering.

You don't move your domain to them, just point your MX record and add a couple of TXT records for verification and SPF.

£2.60 + VAT per user mailbox per month. You can create free shared mailboxes.

I have this for my domain, but IMHO the spam filtering is very weak compared to that of GMail/Google Apps - I regularly receive spam mails that were missed and get false positives.

Also in the six months I've had it, ESET has picked up two attachments that Office365 missed that were "infected/Suspicious".

I intend to ditch it after the 12 month contract and go back to Google Apps.

I use Fasthosts for my email hosting, it's a slightly complicated pricing structure but it sounds like it would be cheaper than the Office365 offering mentioned above even for one mailbox, and considerably less if you have more than one mailbox.

Google Apps is good and costs $5 per month per user, it is very similar to the Office365 mentioned above.

I have a free google apps account from the past but will have a look at their paid for offerings since they discontinued the free service.

Microsoft looks good but used them in the past and been let down so a no from me on that one.

I've used Polarismail as a back up for many years, and George, the guy in charge is always helpful.

Also consider Fastmail, this is my primary email provider for my 6 domains and has been since 2006.
