I think you run the risk of seriously stressing your existing two cats.
Walk yourself why would you do it?
Possibly the answer is more for yourself than the.
I'm sorry, I'm not wording this well, I am sounding mean when I don't intend it.
Plenty have don't it, lots have multiple cat households, but I don't think it's ideal.

I would agree with Artytarty - if you have 2 cats that are happy together, and get along with no aggression, particularly as they are both males, then it might be a good idea to stick with what you have?

I recently got a second cat about 5 months ago, and if I am honest am regretting my decision somewhat. My existing cat is male and 14 years old. I decided to then chose a 2 year old male from a rescue who turned out, personality wise, to be a very different cat to what the rescue led me to believe! The personalities don't mix, despite Feliway, and though things are much better between them now, I cannot leave them unsupervised together for any period of time as the younger one keeps bullying my older one. It causes tension in my home.

If I could turn back time, I wish I would have chosen a female, and one much older that was more in keeping with my existing cat.

If you really want another one, I would advise a female, and similar to your existing cats ages. Just my humble opinion though :o

Go for it. I had 3 cats who all got on fine and would sleep together 2 male 1 female. The eldest male died at 17. The other male then started to bully the female. Found 2 cats some women was giving away cause she was leaving the country 1 male persian and a female. We then had 4. The persian settled in straight away. Took the female at least 6 months before she would even stop hiding under the bed. It was hard work but worth it. My other cat stopped bullying the female.
But alas my female died and now hes started to bully the other female. We are looking for another cat preferably male. I live in a flat and they have the run of the place. I bought them one of those climbing box thing which gives the female a place to go cause the eldest won't go up to the top.
Go for it it does work.
