Transfer from Gran Canaria airport to hotel

Hi folks

We are off to Gran Canaria next week and diy-ing it for the first time

With regards to transfers to the hotel is it best to pre-book the taxi or just get one there?

Does it make any difference to price?

Any recommendations for companies to use?

Now for the really silly question.......how do you find your taxi?!?

Thanks in advance :D

Hi, Colloq beat me to it. I was also going to recommend Owens from the canaryforum.com. Link is on the top right hand corner of the home page.

If you pre-book your taxi, someone will be standing outside arrivals with a board with your name on, or the name of your hotel.

when you go out from the airport just turn right. there is a taxi stand. if there is no taxi parked there, there's a useful button to press and a taxi will be with you shortly (less than 2 mins) (press it only once :rolleyes: or you will get some taxi driver upset)

taxi are quite cheap in GC compared to the uk. Where in the island will u stay?

Thanks for that. I think we are going to pre book the taxi. Doesn't seem too expensive - roughly £25.

    We are staying in Maspalomas.

you can get a taxi at the airport and the fare should be between 20 to 30 euros. a bit cheaper than the pre booked.
i go to GC twice a year (used to live there) and i can assure you there will be plenty of taxis at the airport.

hope you have a great time, i love maspalomas!
