Anybody used Tolltickets.com for Road Tolls?

Hi

We're doing a 1 month road trip through France, Spain and Portugal. Looking at the automated toll systems in these countries it looks like the setup cost for a short stint like this is prohibitive. I found tolltickets.com who lease the transponders out for a reasonable base fee and a 9% service charge on tolls.

Has anyone tried this service please?

9% is going to add up to quite a lot over a month road trip...

Have you considered using the card payment lanes combined with a fee-free card (e.g. Halifax Clarity or Metro Bank debit)? OK, it's not as quick but it's not bad at all, and there are usually no queues for them. On my way back to Eurotunnel the other day I sailed past a queue of British vehicles waiting to pay cash by going through a card lane.

I use tolltickets quite regular. I normally travel alone and just can't deal with getting out the car and run around it.

You can also pick up the box now from a motorway stop near the Eurotunnel which will save on postage.
