Tax code whilst on maternity leave

Hi All,

I've just received my April payslip with my new tax code of 1000L. I will be starting my maternity leave on 16th May, where I will get 2 weeks at full pay, 4 weeks at 90% pay and then move on to statuatory maternity pay for 33 weeks, before having the final 13 weeks with no pay atall.

I was just wondering what will happen with my tax code as I'm assuming I won't pay tax on my statuatory pay. Will I be able to claim back the tax I'll have paid in my April, May and June pay packets as I will be earning under £10,000 for the whole year. If so, how do I go about doing this?

Many Thanks,

Confused!
