I received letter yesterday informing me about the change in Vantage account.

I was a bit surprised and disappointed that they did not suggest I switched to the new account - not a mention of it:( Are they trying to keep number low on this?
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

How often have you called upon these benefits or is it just peace of mind?

If I didn't have a Vantage account I would have to buy my own travel insurance when I go abroad (once or twice a year). I have had to use it a couple of times in the past and wouldn't travel without it. I would also have to buy my own roadside assistance. I used that once last year and wouldn't drive a car without it. I wouldn't bother buying my own mobile phone insurance though, I guess it's a nice perk to have in any case.

At some point (preferably before July) I will have to do a cost analysis to see if it would be cheaper to buy these things separately, taking in to account the fees I pay for my Vantage account and the lost interest for not having it in a higher earning account.

I got my letter yesterday. I will close the 3 a/cs in July & open a Nisa with the 15K.
Will look around for a Nisa nearer the time.

You might want to compare it to the Nationwide FlexPlus

Though not too much difference from my brief scan.

It still pays 3% interest though

FlexPlus has benefits and attracts a £10 per month charge - but an excellent account all the same

As with the Vantage accounts - nothing in T&C to say it must be from an external source.

Once a month I do a round robin and then every one is happy.
