Just noticed this on the Waitrose website:
Money off your shopping when you buy selected newspapers
From 26 April, the minimum amount that you need to spend in store to receive money off your shopping with selected newspapers will be £10.

Up from £5 then. Still a good deal IMO even if they want you to spend money with them, I've found if you shop right and you wont spend any more than shopping in the other supermarkets.0

I think it's £10 over a week. You don't have to spend it all in one go. You then get the following week's papers free.0

It's not. It's £10 per transaction and one free paper per transaction.0 -
Email confirmation received today:
There are a couple of changes to your myWaitrose benefits that we wanted to make you aware of.
From 26 April 2014, the minimum amount you need to spend to receive money off your shopping with selected newspapers will be £10. That’s across all newspapers in the offer.
We’re also making the monthly prize draw even simpler. From 1 May, each time you use your myWaitrose card you’ll be entered into a draw to win £5,000 in vouchers to spend at Waitrose or John Lewis. With 10 runners up each winning £500 in vouchers.
Everything else will stay exactly the same. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Just had an email about this.
From tomorrow 28 May you only need to spend £5 Monday to Friday.
Saturday and Sunday are remaining at a minimum £10 spend.0 -
Worked today on £5+ spend without a problem.
Has anyone worked out if it works when you include a free drink in the £5 total? Looks as though it might, as the drink & newspaper are taken off at the same point - would mean only making an actual £1.80 spend in real money.0 -

It works. I tried it when the min spend was £10, last week. I think that's why the weekend spend is staying at £10 because if it is £5 then u only have to spend like 30p (in some cases) to get a free paper & drink!0 -
great I love waitrose and will visit much more now!!0
