I know how long I have had the policy as the renewal letter kindly advises that but how on earth when I use one of the templates to make the claim and edit it can I find out the amount of cover they said it would provide as I haven't kept the original document from many, many years ago if indeed there was one.
I seem to recall I took it out in the late 1990s originally when I rang HSBC to activate a card and have renewed it every year since.
What have other people written on the claim? Any advice gratefully appreciated.

    Just write "don't know".

The CPP refund scheme only covers the period post January 2005. Any complaint about earlier than this would have to go to (in your case) HSBC.
  • I copied the statements they made in relation to why they thought I had been mis sold in their letter to me onto the claim form. I received £45 which is correct as I only had this cover for one year.
