Hi All. I am using my laptop a lot and find that I sometime (or is it often??) have time problems getting pages to download fully on my screen. I have just done a test 4 times consecutively and the results are as follows:
- Download = 29,8Mb - 24,6Mb - 29,6Mb and 31,4Mb
- Upload = 1,8Mb - 1,8Mb - 1,8Mb and 1,8Mb
Laptop is on wifi with the Virgin box upstairs - Cable connection to the street.
Am I doing ok or is this a bad download/upload speed?
Many thanks for advice.

Looks like it's either a problem with your laptop or your browser. Those speeds are fine.
Which browser and have you tried a different browser?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Thanks so far. I am using Microsoft Explorer (an old version that I cannot up-grade) and have had little issues with it dealing with Quidco for example.0

That may be your problem. Download something like Chrome and give it a try. If that works you have your answer.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Google Chrome in my opinion is the quickest browser by far. I always find Internet Explorer very slow. I have used loads of browsers in the past and Google Chrome is so much quicker.
Also I know it sounds silly but if you use a mouse with your laptop you will notice that it speeds up navigating around on your laptop. I hope this helps.0 -
Thanks all. How do I go about changing to Chrome for example? Download and run and then delete Internet Explorer??? I run Outlook for work, would this cause a problem? Many thanks.0

The speeds you quote are normal for a 30mbps Virgin connection.
When Chrome gets slow I usually just delete the cache. It works wonders.0 -
You can't delete IE, just the shortcut. If Chrome works, you just use that and don't open IE.Thanks all. How do I go about changing to Chrome for example? Download and run and then delete Internet Explorer??? I run Outlook for work, would this cause a problem? Many thanks.
Download it from HERE.
Before you do that delete all your internet history, cookies and cache to give IE one more go.
Having said that, you will find Chrome or any other browser better than your old IE.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
