Credit card in Spain

Hi All, I hope you can help me . I have a BBVA account with a CC and they are charging me a lot when using abroad. I wish to close the account and transfer the money (€) to a UK CC using the Euros with no charges, is there any out there. Thanks in advance.

What exactly are they charging you for and where? Is it currency conversion and UK?

Why € to UK? All banks will charge you for currency conversion if the account is in € and you pay in £.
And you can transfer to a bank account not to a CC. In UK current accounts come with debit cards, not credit.

As you have been living abroad for the past 30 years, I guess you have no credit history here in the UK.

I suggest you get yourself a home and on the electoral register here in the UK first (if not already done so) and then look to build up your credit rating before attempting to demand the pick of the crop when seeking credit.

The OP wanted to transfer money, not to 'seek credit'.

If you have €€ abroad you can transfer them to ££ in UK without losing much. Check
    mycurrencytransfer.com
    fxcompared.com

There are some UK debit and credit cards that don't charge anything for spending in EU, some don't charge anything for spending worldwide.
Halifax Clarity CC is possibly the most popular, but not the only one:

    • Do you currently live in Spain?
    • Do you (also) have a UK address?
    • Does your BBVA account have a positive balance? I'm guessing "yes".
    • What type of account do you want in the UK? Current/Credit Card/Savings
Depending on your answers someone may be able to advise.

You're asking in the wrong place then, I'm afraid.

Try looking on Eurozone forums, where people are more likely to know about good rate euro credit cards. The general area of expertise here is £ CCs which aren't too expensive for using in other currencies, which doesn't seem to be what you are looking for.

Kalixa Pay is a good value Prepaid Mastercard. Especially for purchases. Not bad for large cash withdrawals.
