How could you possibly know that?! Unless you know more about op than the rest of us..
They said it COULD cost more, which doesnt require you to know anything other than the fact that Comp is sometimes cheaper than TPFT.
In reality Comp is often cheaper than TPFT for a variety of reasons0 -
ok, my insurance would be £275 per annum and £25.16 per month -(this is because I'm already "using" my 9 years NCD on my other vehicle) I'd also have an admin fee should I choose to cancel before the 12 month period. This was fully comp and was cheapest option.
I've had a look at the gov website and if I choose to go down the SORN route it says that "the new owner ]must make a new SORN straight away if you buy a vehicle that already has a SORN from its previous keeper."
So, two questions:
Firstly, if they buy and arrange insurance there and then, can they drive the vehicle away or does the sorn status matter (please excuse my ignorance - I'm really trying to understand it)
Secondly, my vehicle is actually fully taxed till next year but doesn't have insurance. If someone comes to drive it and has fully comp on a another vehicle, can they test drive my mini and be TP insured?
Sorry, for all the questions. I suspect as theft was my first worry, I'm going to have to take the hit of inurance but just want to make sure I've covered all the basesTried and Tested0 -

If they insured it and taxed it straight away then it would all be ok. In reality they could do the tax slight afterwards and still get away with it. The SORN terminates the tax you already have
By having the SORN in place the tax is ended so even if the insurance is ok they'd be driving without taxing the vehicle. DOC as you say is normally TP only and often requires the vehicle to have other insurance already on it but you'd need to read the terms of their policy to check. Likewise remember its only the policyholder that gets DOC and not any named drivers (with the exception of some HNW policies)0
