O/S Daily Thursday 24th April 2014
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now getting light, damp underfoot but not cold. Washing ready to go on the line.
DH up and getting ready to go to work early – not quite stupid early.
Dinner last night was a disjointed meal as DH was late – so I gave the boys their dinner first and I then ate with DH when he got in, he wasn’t actually as late as he thought he would be. We had gammon, egg, onion sauce, new potatoes and veg. Easter chocolate for those that wanted some for dessert. Tonight we’ll be having the LO’s from the roast – I’ll do extra veg as there’s only cauli/brocc cheese left.
Work yesterday was reasonably busy – we seemed to have a steady flow of customers but kept me busy enough to make the time go quickly.
Once I got home, after diverting round to buy some seeds and some more milk (I went in for just milk and that’s all I bought!). I did my normal jobs I do – checked bank, paid bills etc. Then spent ages on the phone making calls, the longest being sorting my car insurance renewal – managed to get it a bit cheaper – not as cheap as I’d like but not too far off, sorted DH’s at the same time as his is due 2 days later.
As you can see I’m up stupid early – fell asleep on the sofa and woke up at 2.50am – went to bed then couldn’t get back to sleep – so after an hour got up – had another night where brain just wouldn’t shut down, stuff rolling round my brain – hoping over today and tomorrow I can sort what’s chugging away in the back of my mind and then resume a better sleep pattern. Hoping I don’t become really tired too early today as I have quite a bit I want to get done. I could do without hitting a wall of tiredness in the early/mid afternoon! Going to keep busy just pottering along working my way through the list of chores so I don’t get in the CBA mood – which is what sometimes happens with the not sleeping thing!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning nmlc and all who follow
Another one who did not sleep well here, too much going on in my head last night.
Need to inventory freezer and write a meal planner tonight. I get paid tomorrow and want to make sure we have everything we need in larder and freezer, it's going to be a tight month. Fingers crossed that DD manages to get some funding from somewhere.
Something with pork mince for dinner, probably Thai style.
Butterfly Brain - hope all goes well today, please take care and come back to us soon x
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Took little dog to the vet yesterday she has ear drops but it was £50 ! she does seem more comfortable this morning though so worth it.
Dinner tonight will be something and chips so nice and quick I also have waitrose deliving (I had a £25 off voucher).
Butterfly good luck for your op hope all goes well xx

Morning all
Disjointed sleep pattern here too, but at least I have a choice of things to worry about, lol.
DW is chugging away, hubby has a cuppa in bed, no need for him to get up as he's on holiday, he goes back on Monday ^ it looks like he's working 5 Saturdays in a row, it would have been 6 but I put my foot down & said I couldn't manage to babysit the DFGC on my own, total rubbish of course as they are as good a gold & old enough to be sensible. But it means hubby get at least one Saturday off between now & September.
Hugs to Molly, Bitsy, JackieO & LW.
Time I got a wiggle on.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning All
Weather ok at the moment but the ground is a bit damp, it wasn't too bad yesterday until about 3pm and it rained quite heavily.
Washing up to date as DS2 is getting ready to go away again tomorrow. He is going to Amsterdam first and it will be King's Day when he's there so he bought him and his pals t shirts that he has dyed orange and cheap canvas shoes that he dyed orange too. Strangely the kitchen is ok!
Butterfly Brain - Thinking of you today, hope all goes well.
Hugs and get well wishes to those in need, especially LW, Molly and JackieO.
Managed to get the ironing up to date yesterday too and DS2 seems to have got my new laptop and printer to talk to each other wirelessly - how come I bought them both the same make and they refuse to work properly? Technology!
Anyway another day at work and then the hospice, not sure what's for tea, will have a rummage in the freezer.
Take care. XX0 -
Just checking in to say I'm still alive.

Morning all,
Didn't get round to posting yesterday, real life (kids) got in the way, just caught up busiscoming it was me! I also gave up on Jamaica Inn what a shame.
Molly, JackieO lots of healing vibes.
Hugs for those that can't sleep, I'm often in that club at least a couple of nights a week.
I'm planning on some paperwork, I need to rejigg, tighten our budget, things seem to have got away from me recently. Also we have an expensive year with family visiting etc. will feel happier when I've done that.
I think there is a £5 voucher in The Mirror today for Aldi, in case anyone has missed it in the grabbit board.
A quieter evening tonight as DGS and dd are out at the zoo today and then back at bf for the night. I will be glad when normal service resumes and he is back at school this coming week.
Plans for the weekend include sorting out the shed which is full of !!!! and finishing the tiling in the bathroom.
I'm also picking my middle boy up from the airport tomorrow as he's back from Miami.
NMP I've been following your bug on FB hope your all better soon.
Need to change our bedding this weekend, usual stuff, busy busy busy
Can't wait to get my car back as the courtesy car is shocking, it's two weeks on Saturday:eek:
Have a great Thursday xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Bit pee'd off this morning. Told DS2 before I went to work first time that he was to get up and complete the personal statement part of his college app form and I'd drop him at the college so he can hand it in. I asked him to be ready by half nine as I want to get some bits in the high street while I'm there. Suffice to say I am now sitting here waiting for him to finish getting ready! He needs a rocket up his behind! Grrrrr
Julie - thanks for the nod about the Aldi voucher.
Camelot - I have a newish laptop that won't recognise our new printer and so have gone back to using the old one. I thought with each version of windows it's supposed to get easier. Plug and play my ar@e.
NPM - Aww hugs to you all. Hope you are all better soon.
Butterfly - Hope the op went ok.
Hoping to find time to see my dad today or tomorrow. Don't know where the time goes.0 -

Blimey you have had a rough time of it. You wont forget this Easter bank holiday in a rush. Hope you all feel better soon.
Morning all,
Butterfly Brain, thinking of you today. Hope all goes well with your op. Looking forward to your update when you feel up to it. Thinking of our dear friends Molly and JackieO too.
I think I must have slept for all of you last night as I had to peel myself out of the sheets this morning. I went to bed fairly early too. Its not often I go to bed at the same time as hubby but I was so tired.
'Youngest' went out to a party last night and he's just rolled in. He will be in bed for most of the day now.
All the upstairs chores have been done. I did them before he came back which leaves just the downstairs to do but that can wait.
Tea tonight, beef I think. Not sure of the finer details as yet. I'll see.
Facebook is a bundle of joy. Ive got one of the women I was telling you about yesterday (or was it the day before) slagging another woman off saying she is a hypochondriac. Of course, no names are mentioned but its obvious who she is on about. The woman in question has had most of her bowel removed and is on morphine for the pain. I think I am going to have to start deleting people/groups because I'm finding it hard to keep my mouth shut.
On a plus side, the Council have just been and taken my old sofas. Yay! I can see down the side of the house now!
Onwards and forwards,
