This message appears when you order currency to be collected at Manchester Travelex

"Please Note: no orders can be collected at Manchester Airport after 20th August 2007, including redemption of all Buy Back Plus Guarantees"

So I guess it must be closing.
  • Yes it is true, Travelex lost their contract for this airport.

Do you have any idea who is taking their place?

Yes, It is Thomas Cook and ICE.

Thomas Cook will also be in Terminal 5 along with Travelex when it opens next year.

thanks for the heads up - that's rubbish - i always use travelex! :( they only seem to have pick up at airports too so it's not like i can head into town and collect from there

  • I think all their pick up locations are airport or seaport, Windsor is the only place that you can pick up that isn't an airport I think.

I cant see why their pods such as Tescos, Boots etc cant do it as they use the same systems.

I don't understand how they can't have one there, it being a popular airport an all. You'd think they'd have some special way to get the money to people flying from manchester...!

Hmm not quite sure what to do!

maybe a trip to the airport in liverpool a few days before you go? the bus is relatively cheap but it depends how much extra you get from travelex over other people as to whether it's worthwhile...
