advice re Car fault
Options
2 weeks ago I bought a car from a dealer - engine noise was heard on the test drive and was told its the fsn belt and will sort it as car will have service and Mo tbefore drive away. I purchased the car - Took car to a Kia deaker for free check up was told fault is fly wheel and eill cost 1500 to repair - I returned to dealer who said he would repair and collect car after the bank holiday. On the day of collection I wake to find the car has been covered in Nitromose paint stripper.
The dealer arrives to collect but says he cannot take the car as paint stripper on tires makes the car unfit to drive. I phone insurance company - they are coming tomorrow and will I suspect write the car off - What should I do? All help advice gratefully received.

Not really sure what we can advise, if they write it off they write it off?
I do feel sorry for your predicament though. Nitromors is nasty stuff. I once got some trade strength get under my nail bed. Never known pain like it. The garage was right not to drive it away.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

I was once putting Nitromors on a piece of furniture with a paintbrush and a tiny drop (so small I couldn't see it) was flicked into my eye. Pain like I have never known, and it watered for a week. I wear goggles now.
OP, what was this doing on your car? Vandalism? If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Yes - vandalised - police involved - just my car targeted - dont know who did it.0

Call me suspicious, but the day it was due collection by the dealer and it was going to cost him a good few quid, it has been damaged probably beyond repair.
What sort of dealer is he and what do you know about him?
Unless you're shagging someone's wife, why just your car?0 -
Looks like its a write of end of story. But do not buy a car with known faults ever again.0

No other wives involved!
I guess the outcome will be a write off - therefore no repsirs by garage.
Yes it is suspicious but I have no proof . Just a car covered in Nitromose.
Dealer is a fairly large local car dealer. I spent about 3 months looking round dealers for cars and chose this one.0 -

Well then unless the police have a line of enquiry, other than a pcso knocking a few doors time to move on and find another car.0 -
