:A Thanks superscaper for your advice I will do this, cheers.:beer:0

Just to add to superscrapers post, there are two books I recommend. One is PC's for Dummies and the other is Windows XP for Dummies. Both start off at a very basic level and go up to advanced but they explain things in non-techie phrasing whereas a lot of books assume you already know what RAM and HDD stand for for example.0

My best advice is to get back with your ex, but this time pay attention to what he does on the computer.0

If you mean your homepage do the following:
For IE(Internet Explorer)
Goto the top of your browser page and select Tools,Internet Options and under the General tab you should see Home Page.
Where it says address type in what you want as your homepage i.e www.msn.com then click Apply and Ok.
Your homepage should then be what you entered in the address section.
For Firebox
Top of your browser page select Tools then Options and click on the Main tab and you should see Start Up.
Where it says Home Page type what address you want in ie www.msn.com then Ok.
The homepage changing to something different to what it was originally can also be a sign that you have a virus/spyware/malware etc.The Female of the Species is More Deadlier than the Male.0 -
Thanks ankles that's it fixed thanks for your help. I won't be doing anything else by way of installing anything.:beer:0

I'm glad you've sorted it
but I would try and get some kind of protection on your PC asap because not only can you catch a lot of nasties, you're also leaving your Pc open to all kinds of hacking/phishing attacks which the security will usually catch onto.
The chances are you might have something already and if you do online banking etc these nasties can capture all your details and leave you open to being defrauded. The Female of the Species is More Deadlier than the Male.0 -
