Newlyn Bailiffs: Not accepting My repayment

Hi Annie
Firstly I would suggest that you have no further phone conversations with Newlyn. There is no need whatsoever for you to speak with them and it just gives them further opportunities to pressurise you into paying more and more.
Please heed the advice further above - these bailiffs can not force entry into your home. If the visit takes place at all (which is not guaranteed - it may have been an empty threat, again designed to panic you) you should ignore them if you do not feel comfortable speaking with them.
Dennis

I have sent an email to my local councillor asking if he can help I also set up a standing order to make regular payments im now wondering if I should email newlyns to say that this is what ive done as they have refused any offer of payment plan
Make sure the councillor knows that his council are employing bailiffs who are misrepresenting the law and their powers. There are plenty of other companies who their contract could be switched to.
You could also check that the bailiff is registered here:
http://certificatedbailiffs.justice.gov.uk/CertificatedBailiffs/
and if his registration is coming up for renewal, write a letter to the relevant court.0 -

Please reread posts 33,34 and 42.
Let's be clear. They can't refuse payment and they can't break into your home. The bailiffs can't send you to prison.
Do not talk to the bailiffs by phone as they will use this opportunity to bully and threaten you. If they call tell them to put it in writing.
I hope the weekend is not too stressful for you.

Just had a phone call from newlyns saying as we haven't paid £1000 today they are going ahead with the enforcement feeling really scared as I'm in house all by myself while he is at work
Bailiff's, debt collectors, DCA`s tame solicitors, all use the phone as there weapon of choice, simply because its so easy to influence someone, who is already in a panic, into paying up there and then.
They are only interested in one thing, and one thing only, and that's getting the maximum amount of money from you, there and then.
They arnt interested in payment plans, or taking your goods (second hand goods rarely sell for much money) they just want paying as much as possible, as quickly as possible.
This is why you should NEVER speak on the phone to them, you should block there number, do everything in writing, you tell them your proposals for payment, then stick to it, don't ask there approval, its the only way to deal with them.
Stick to your guns, they cant do anything to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Sounds like the councillor has helped to sort out the immediate problem of getting payment into the council. But he has not affected the larger problem of bailiffs who flout the rules.
A complaint to the LGO may be appropriate.

It just goes to show the firm but fair approach you see from the tv bailiffs could not be further from the reality.
I'm sure some may be like that, but the majority will be as you describe.
