Can making deep airplane noise, when braking ?

Car is a Peugeot 406,Saloon car,Petrol

When braking after driving then the car makes a deep noise, sounding like an airplane taking off, a deep noise.

It is not a squeaky noise, and not a grinding one.

It only comes when braking,

What can this be a sign off?

and if you suggest it sounds similar to xyz problem, how much would it typically cost to fix it ?

The brake pads were changed 2 months ago.
Could it be a brake related issue for certain? or could also be a clutch/gear issue?

This is not the forum to fix this. Take it to a garage.

Sound only happens when you brake!

That would be the big clue.

If you only did the pads and the discs are badly worn that could be your problem.

It could also be a build up of contaminants in the disc face caused by the different compounds in pads instead of asbestos.

The same kind of noise used to affect the Mercedes Sprinters at my old workplace, the compound was changed in the pads and there were no problems since.

Initially it was thought the pads were worn out and vehicles were taken off the road only for it to be found the discs and pads were fine.

Usually you can see the build up on the disc face, a slighf discolouration.

my company Beemer does it too; main dealer said they find a lot do it - nothing to worry about. Possiby due to type of pad material.
