I had automatic electronic openers fitted to my gates. They didn't work properly and the motors have been replaced under the guarantee. But the company doing the work wants to charge me over £200 inc. VAT to detect the problem and fit the new motors. Do I have to pay or is it the fitting company's responsibility? they took 3 months are several visits to detect and remedy the problem.

Assuming you are a consumer rather than business then look into the possibility that SoG applies.

If it does then your claim would be against whoever sold you the gates and there wouldn't be any cost to you.
