SSL Error - Changing IP Address

Hello

For weeks I have not been able to log on to Santander Banking Website. Santander are convinced it is to do with my network provider (Virgin).

Virgin have tried lots of different things and don't seem to be getting anywhere. They are now suggesting the website could be blocking my IP address and that I should change it. They have told me to disconnect the white wire to the back of the router - leave it disconnected for at least three hours and then I will be given a new IP address.

Has anyone ever heard of this scenario before? Any experience of this sort of thing working?

I am getting so fed up with this now - I really need my internet banking :(

It's hard to imagine why a bank would start IP-blocking, especially of a residential customer, and then claim not to know anything about it. What Virgin suggest won't do any harm, but I would be astounded if it helped either.

Have you tried different browser Firefox or Google chrome ?

What anti virus do you have - if Avast I have found that it blocked a security webcam address - turning AVAST off and I could see the picture! I have changed to AVG and all OK on that problem.

Do you have a seperate firewall program that might be blocking - if not try going into internet explorer, tools, options, security, trusted sites, sites and add the Santander web address to it, if it is https then click the box requires server verification and see if that helps.
