Hi,
I had an EPC done in 2009 which suggested cavity wall insulation would be a good idea to increase my rating.
Due to damp problems (condensation) because the wall is north facing/cold I now want to get this done.
I have called british gas who somehow managed to see my EPC and told me they can't proceed because the EPC has both solid and cavity walls listed under the walls element of the EPC.
They said I should contact whoever did my EPC. I now find this person is uncontactable, the company website and phone number don't work.
So what can I do next? It's obvious the wall is cavity but they wont even send anyone out!
Thanks

Hi, you often get two type of wall on an EPC as there may be an extension. Unless the EPC is incorrect there is no point contacting the DEA.
How old is the main house? Is it solid wall or cavity (check the bond on the wall if you can see the ends of the brick it will be solid), is there an extension? It may be the extension is cavity and the main wall solid?0 -
the main building is definitely cavity, i think the porch which is very small might have one side without a cavity, but still 2 bricks thick. other porches in the area are made of upvc.
anyway i have contacted a different supplier of insulation as i didn't like the fact british gas won't even come and look at it, it's like they don't want the business.0
