    I had a broker tell me I'd have no problems getting a mortgage, offer accepted on our house, 4 weeks looking and put in an offer on another house. Then broker said no way in hell would I get a mortgage + another broker backed this up. PANIC/STRESS/FEAR/SHATTERED DREAMS(!).

    Ended up speaking to my bank directly and got the mortgage sorted myself.

    This is why i never tell people they will not get a mortgage (unless they genuinely do not have a hope in hell).

    The amount of people i have seen who have been told no chance and in reality its a doddle or even if not a doddle it is still possible to place it with a bit of work.

    I have told people its not a case i would want to take on as im not confident i could place it, but i have only ever told 1 person i can think of they have no chance.
