It's true - this generation have access to infinitive knowledge .... but not to wisdom, and that's where the old people come in.

They see their facebook friends going around the world, buying houses, marrying, having children, buying new cars, advancing in careers ...... this instils a sense of loss in the youngsters, which brings on depression .... and a hatered of the older generation who had a simpler, more basic, life.

Wisdom doesn't come with age, but with experience. There are plenty of reactionary, ignorant and prejudiced older people out there.

Genuinely, how many young people do you know? How much of what you write is based upon anecdote and conjecture?

I also don't think that the lives people led previously were any more simple. They were still in relationships, still worked, still had money troubles. More of them had alcohol problems, violent crime was higher and domestic abuse was rife. Great days!

Perhaps the best thing we can do is to try and understand one another.

The difference between our generations is similar to that of pre-war adults and post-war kids. Worlds apart.

Well, if it helps - many 1,000's as a matter of fact ..... it's true wisdom doesn't always come with age - but old age IS a pre-requisite for it.
