Hi everybody,
I have a Vanquis card at the moment. I have been accepted for a Tesco card though. I have just paid my Vanquis card off and I am wondering if I should cancel it or not. If I just leave the account open will it improve my credit files and make it easier to get credit in the future. (I am trying to not to say 'will it make my credit score get better' as I know there is no such thing as a credit score).
Or should I just cancel it because it will make no difference to my credit files. All it will show is that I have had a credit card and I am obviously not using it anymore.

Leaving the account open but unused is unlikely to have a positive impact on your ability to get credit.

I have a two phone contracts, my current account but I am always in credit on that so not sure if that counts. Then these two credit cards, the Vanquis and Tesco credit card.0
