No response to appeal but Debt Recovery letter today!

Hi,
I received a parking charge back in Feb for straddling 2 parking bays at Bolton Middlebrook Retail Park.
I appealed against this charge on 18/03 using the guidelines and letter here but today have received a debt recovery letter. The company have not responded to say the appeal was rejected, nor have they sent a POPLA code. What are my next steps? I assumed that I would receive a rejection of appeal letter prior to Debt Recovery.

Please help.
Thanks.

    Was this UKPC?
Would suggest you send a letter to them saying it is a breach of BPA COP to be progressing debt recovery whilst they are still considering your appeal. Demand they either cancel the charge or provide a rejection letter and POPLA code by return. Enclose a copy of your appeal - enclose email acknowledgement of submission if appealed on-line or copy of cert.of posting if you posted it.

Also send a complaint to the BPA.

Yes it was UKPC. Unfortunately I didn't get a cert of posting as my husband picked up the post prior to me getting to the PO and posted in the normal manner!
It was however posted on 23 March.

They do have 35 days to respond to an appeal so they are still in time but they shouldn't be sending out debt recovery letters whilst considering it - it should be put on hold.
So in case they are playing silly beggars and trying to act as though they never received it, send the letter including the copy of the appeal anyway - make sure you get a free cert of posting this time.

Email or write to them (UKPC, not the stupid debt collector) and say you have not yet received a reply to your appeal and they had better send you a POPLA code or you will report them to the DVLA and BPA Ltd. Enclose a copy of your appeal again, trying to force them to reply.
