Hi all,
I have been on maternity leave from work 17th December - 17th June and returned to work then (only I didn't really as I am taking 4 weeks annual leave aswell) I made arrangements with my employer that I am going to work 25hrs per week, effectively this shaves a third of my current income away. I have informed TC on Monday gone have really struggled to get through on the phones before that I told them about the change in hours and they immediately requested a new income figure I didn't expect them to do that and was just going to update my income at the end of tax year as they pay you based on previous years income (previous to this they were paying me based on 06/07 income) so now I gave them a figure two thirds of my yearly income before the hours change which should be spot on now what happens she said that I would get revised notice in a few days (not here yet) but does it mean they are going to change my payments or will they just update their records and leave it at that now obviously as income reduced I expect we will be entitled to more next year but if they pay it this year are they then going to recover it as overpayment as my credits for this yr are supposed to be based on last years earnings.
I have totally confused myself there can anyone sort my brain out before it short circuits.
TIA

They will update the payments you are due and you should receive the revised payments that you are due now your income is reduced. Remember that the first £100 per wek of maternity pay is disregarded for tax credits...so you should take this into account when telling them the income you have receivedI have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

Hi sarah louise thatnks for the quick reply,
I knew about the first £100 thing from when I claimed as 14 weeks of mat leave fell in 06/07 taking £1400 off earnings for last year.
That leaves 12wks falling into this year in effect £1200 however whilst on my maternity leave I have switched onto agenda for change pay scale and this means that on top of my new basic wage £11,200 I will also receive enhanced payments for any hours worked after 8pm, any hours on a weekend or BH and also nightshifts I have no idea what this will total and I know these payments aren't vast either I am also unlikely to work a great deal of unsocial hours due to my position of assistant manager and I am more usefull through the week so I left the £1200 on to compensate for this.
Just had a thought there I am not doing anything underhand by doing that am I ?? Really just trying to avoid overpayment of any type.
Hope that makes sense
Thanks again

They sent me revised award notices and have said that my entitlement has changed now and I am due to more TC they have started the increased payments immediately but are holding on to the payments from earlier this year until they award is closed off next year when did they start doing that it ? used to be if they owed you money they would pay it straight away.:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011
