I work in the NHS, my long days are 14 hours, get paid for 13.5 of them therefore 30 minutes break in the day. Sounds ridiculous but I would love to get the 30 minutes, I didn't get a break yesterday at all.

I don't have any advice but good luck. Employers should recognise that in order to get the best out of their staff they need to look after them!

    When was this?
I can confirm it used to be like this a long time ago (30 years 1 mean).
I used to work in a shoe shop as a Saturday job when I was 15.
If we did a 4.5 hour shift rather than 4 hours then we had to have a break.
That is a LONG time ago though.
Sounds like things have got worse.

I work in an office job and we can have breaks when we like although deadlines need to be met.
Does sound like a different world in factories/shops I agree.

Confirms nothing young workers have different rules.
